Bullying Prevention & Trainings

STARS is the leader in middle Tennessee for youth prevention curriculum and resources.

Our mission is to help all students overcome social and emotional barriers to learning.  Training for schools and community organizations is essential if students are going to succeed. STARS Nashville seeks to include all those who care for our children by helping them to understand those non-academic barriers to learning which prohibit young people from reaching their full potential. Training and professional development for entire school systems, school administrators, teachers, guidance counselors, and all school support personnel, as well as parents and community-based organizations address those tough issues which challenge their students on a daily basis. Below is inforamtion regarding the most requested topics.

Move 2 Stand

This one-day workshop focuses on empowering students to stand up against bullying. Our trained staff spend the entire day at a school or community center to educate young people on the devastating effects of bullying to encourage them to become part of the solution, to no longer be a by-stander when another individual is being bullied or harassed.

OLWEUS Bullying Prevention Program

This comprehensive, school-wide program is designed for use in elementary, middle, or junior high schools. Its goals are to reduce and prevent bullying problems among school children and to improve peer relations at school. The program has been found to reduce bullying among children, improve the social climate of classrooms, and reduce related antisocial behaviors, such as vandalism and truancy. For more information visit the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) page.

Safe Dates

Highly engaging and interactive, Safe Dates helps teens recognize the difference between caring, supportive relationships and controlling, manipulative, or abusive dating relationships.
