The 2012 ADAM Award
Accepting Differences Among Mankind
Please nominate that remarkable person in your life making a difference in the lives of others.
The ADAM award was established to honor the life of Adam Duke, son of Alva and Mark Duke of Franklin, TN. Adam Duke was born with Down syndrome and although his life did not last long, his memory and impact on the world will forever be felt. In 1981, Alva founded Kids on the Block to both honor Adam’s life and because she wanted to help kids learn to be accepting of each other regardless of their differences. This award is given annually in memory of Adam Duke to the individual who has consistently “gone the extra mile” to promote the importance of Accepting Differences Among Mankind (ADAM).

On Nov. 1, 2011, Vince Gill invited Amy Grant, Dierks Bentley, The Del McCoury Band and special guest Troy Gentry for a magical night of music benefiting STARS (Students Taking A Right Stand) at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. Held for the third year, this concert assists STARS in their important work helping mid-state students, families and schools, K-12, with bullying prevention, substance abuse, violence and other tough social and emotional barriers to learning.
