Where You Can Find SAP Services

Student Assistance is a framework that organizes the services existing in the school to create a continuum of universal, selective and indicated strategies.  The framework also includes connections to community resources and services that may assist the school in providing prevention services, addressing selective population needs, or working with individual students and their families.

Student Assistance Programs (SAP) provide a comprehensive model for the delivery of K-12 prevention, intervention, and support services.  Student assistance services are designed to reduce student risk factors, promote protective factors and increase asset development.  The nine SAP components are recommended as the minimum requirements needed to reduce barriers to learning and ensure student success in safe, disciplined and drug-free schools and communities.

STARS has provided Student Assistance Programming within schools and communities in the Middle Tennessee area for over 30 years.
