STARS Named Top Tennessean Workplace

STARS staff are honored to serve Middle Tennessee youth daily and were thrilled recently when Nashville’s daily newspaper, The Tennessean, named Students Taking A Right Stand (STARS) as one of their top workplaces. The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 37 major publishing partners and recognizes a list of 150 National Top Workplaces.  Over the past year, more than 5,000 organizations and 1 in every 88 employees in the U.S. have turned to WorkplaceDynamics to better understand what’s on the minds of their employees.

Serving Middle Tennessee youth with prevention, intervention and treatment by addressing bullying, substance abuse, violence and social and emotional barriers to learning brings great meaning to the staff of Students Taking A Right Stand (STARS) said STARS CEO Rodger Dinwiddie.

“We are honored to serve and help our Middle Tennessee youth everyday and this Tennessean award honoring STARS as a great place to work also gives us a great sense of pride,” Dinwiddie said.

A nationally recognized and evidenced-based resource for student assistance, training and professional consultation, STARS assists students, families and schools with prevention, intervention and treatment services addressing bullying, substance abuse, violence, and social and emotional barriers to success. Founded in 1984, STARS staff operate in schools and community sites throughout Middle Tennessee via STARS Specialists, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services as well as through Youth Overcoming Drug Abuse (YODA) as a licensed alcohol and drug out-patience treatment facility.
