Nominations are now being accepted for the prestigious “Adam Award” honoring the individual who has consistently gone the extra mile to promote the importance of accepting differences among mankind (ADAM) and will be presented at the newly merged Chair-ish The Night With Vince Gill & Friends on November 16 benefiting Students Taking A Right Stand.
Two popular area benefits have been combined into one star packed evening as Chair-ish The Kids merges with the annual Vince Gill & Friends Concert For STARS to become Chair-ish The Night With Vince Gill & Friends according to event patron co-chairs country music singer/songwriter Chad Warrix and Tennessee Titans Kicker Rob Bironas. An exciting addition is the presentation of the Adam Award according to concert chairwoman Christy Smith.
“Through October 5, close of business, we are accepting nominations to honor individual who have made a large or life changing accomplishment in helping and promoting within our Middle Tennessee community differences among mankind. The award was established In 1999 by Kids On The Block founder Alva Duke in memory of her son, Adam, born with Down Syndrome. This incredible program of STARS helps kindergarten through sixth grade students understand, accept and honor differences while fighting prejudice and injustice,” said Smith. The new event combines an evening of great art with incredible entertainment and is being held for the first time on a Friday evening with Vince Gill bringing another surprise stellar lineup of talented friends according to patron co-chair Chad Warrix.
“It will be an exciting evening as the city’s top artists donate their great works and Vince shares his talents all helping to further the important work of STARS assisting students, families and schools throughout the Middle Tennessee area with tough social and emotional barriers to learning,” Warrix said.
Rodger Dinwiddie, STARS chief executive officer, said they are thrilled Gill, who has been such an amazing friend to the nonprofit agency, is joined this year by Rob Bironas and Chad Warrix as the event patron co-chairs. Previously, Gill has surprised event patrons with guest artists like Amy Grant, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, The Del McCoury Band, Rodney Crowell, Dan Tyminski, Jenny Gill and Richard Marx.
Featured artists for the event are painters Ron York, Michael Bush, Jade Reynolds and jewelry artist Madonna Bush. In addition, the popular silent auction includes an impressive array of items from Predators and Titans tickets and jerseys, autographed stools used by the Gill and guests during the concert to one hour of guest hosting on the hot, new 102.5 The Game.
Chair-ish The Night With Vince Gill & Friends is being presented Friday, November 16, with an art auction and cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. in the Conservatory of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum followed by a 9:00 p.m. concert in the Ford Theatre. With limited seating, exclusive patron tickets are available for $275.00 which includes premium concert seating and a post-concert meet and greet with Vince Gill.
