Katherine is the mother of 17 year old daughter who is deaf. Their family have been receiving services for 8 years. Katherine recently wrote this note to us at STARS for the service we have provided her family:
This program has helped our family a lot. Before STARS came into our home, I was ready to give up my daughter for adoption. I did not know how to communicate with her or how to get her the help she needed.
Now, our daughter is happy and we as a family can communicate with her through sign language and not only has our daughter been involved in programs for deaf students, but her siblings have been able to join as well. We have unity now.
If it wasn’t for the help of STARS program, we would have lost all hope.
