The STARS students of LaVergne High School did a winter coat drive beginning in November as the days and nights began to get cooler. We ended the drive at the beginning of December so the coats could begin to get use. STARS students coordinated the drive with two smaller classes. They were motivating and challenging each other to bring in coats.
We collected over 150 coats! The coats were given to the LaVergne rescue services so that the coats will remain in the community for those less fortunate.
To say our students are generous would be an understatement as over half of our population is on free and reduced lunch, but they were so very quick to donate without hesitation to help others. I am so very proud of my kids!
