Anneliese Barron, State Director of Best Buddies Tennessee and winner of the 2012 ADAM Award.

The ADAM Award was created by Alva and Mark Duke to honor the life and spirit of their son, Adam Duke.  Adam was born with Down Syndrome, and although his life did not last long, his memory and impact on the world will forever be felt.

In 1981, Alva Duke founded Kids on the Block to both honor Adam’s life and because she wanted to help kids learn to be accepting of each other regardless of their differences.  This award is given annually in memory of Adam Duke to the individual who has consistently “gone the extra mile” to promote the importance of Accepting Differences Among Mankind.

Please complete the nomination form ( ADAM Award Nomination Form 2013 ) and submit to STARS by Friday, October 18, 2013.  The winner will be announced at the 5th Annual CHAIR-ISH THE NIGHT WITH VINCE GILL & FRIENDS event being held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum.  (Tickets are on sale now!!)
