Melody

Mercer

Clinical Supervisor

Melody is an Alabama-native, but considers herself a local Middle Tennessean since she has been in the area for over twenty years. She has a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University (War Eagle!) and a M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. Melody was granted her Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider license in 2007 and has an additional designation of Board-Approved Supervisor. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings including community mental health, clinical private practice, behavioral health utilization management, and other non-profit social services agencies.

Melody came to STARS in 2023 as a clinical supervisor and considers herself incredibly fortunate to have a front row seat to the invaluable services the frontline staff provide to the students in Middle Tennessee every day. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her spouse and son, listening to true crime podcasts, attending live comedy shows, dancing in her Zumba class, and playing games (Mahjong, anyone?) with her extended family.

STARS is deeply committed to creating a culture and work space that centers on the power of relationships, that values diversity of perspective and experience, and that honors the dignity, worth, and contributions of all.
